Tara is an experience you will always want to come back for

The Homestead

Tara was built in the early 1860’s by a leading Guildford merchant.

Guildford is small but picturesque village, which was once part of an area known as the “ Golden Triangle” in central Victoria; the scene of the famous gold rush of the 1850’s.

Tara B&B, is conveniently situated on a timelessly beautiful property in the centre of the delightful township of Guildford.

The Gardens

The extensive, picturesque gardens at Tara, are the evolution of +150 years of development and care-taking by its numerous owner. Tara’s garden has been transformed into a beautiful and free flowing garden that is not restricted by formal design.  By carefully planned vision by previous owners, the gardens have been allowed to develop a life-force and symmetry of its own. The gardens have been skilfully crafted by its naturalness and by its well-balanced blend of style and colour.

The garden has an endless variety of natives, fruit tress, plants, roses and beautiful flowers. To mention the variety of roses  it has; Zephirine Drouhin, Albertine, Fritz Nobis, Renae, Crepuscule and Tea Rambler roses. Lavender and many succulents. Fruit tress include; pear, apple, grapes, quince and berry plants.
